Two bandits, one of whom was armed with a hand gun, yesterday descended on a Bachelor’s Adventure, East Coast Demerara home and robbed a housewife of a quantity of jewellery, bullets for a licensed weapon and cash.

Police in a release said that they are investigating a robbery under arms that occurred at about 10 am during which Ashaka Pryce, was attacked and robbed by two men, one of whom was armed with a handgun.

Investigations have so far revealed that Pryce was outside in the yard, when the men entered the premises and held her at gunpoint.  She was taken into the house and tied up, after which the men ransacked the building and took away a quantity of jewellery, US $300 ($60, 000 local currency),  a number of  .22 rounds belonging to her husband who is a licensed firearm holder and a cell phone, before escaping.

    The rising number of these types of crimes sickens me. These are the crimes that deter Guyanese from returning home & making any form of investment. Unless these criminals are stopped people will find it hard to invest in our beautiful native land

    This sounds like a well planned robbery, it seems these men know what they have must be someone who know them well. I hope they are caught and taken off the street and put in jail.

    I am gratefull she was not harmed, armed gunmen robbing and killing like it’s a hobby…………….. such shame and disgrace upon our beautiful land.
    How many tears can we cry for the people in Guyana? It’s a frustrating situation when enough is not being done to rid the country of these rotten devils.
