1. I’m with Tony on this – “who gives a crap…” This has nothing to do with raining on anyone’s parade or jealousy. This is NOT front page news! Best suited for the “Features” section.
2. I also agree with Tessa’s comments on “over-saturation…”
3. “Big apple” IS New York City aka Manhattan NOT any other burrough!
4. However, to be fair, it’s a good venture only for the persons who own this business – hopefully fattens their wallets!

Clinton, I wish you luck. I don’t know much about NY, but look before you leap. Guyanese people over here, are very funny, they build you up, and then, for the silliest of reason, they let you down. Jamaicans have their cow cod soup, and they support each other, so don’t depend on their support period. The last time we had the MAD COW scare, all the cow feet were pulled from the super markets. I admire chance takers, but if your business is dependant on Guyanese support only, stay in Tiger Bay. HINT HINT, NOT ALL GUYANESE EAT BEEF. Consider this. Open ya business in Brooklyn an ya food will “sell off” Germans. Whenever i go to Guyana i visit Germans every day and i even freeze de soup and bring it back up with me, so people in Brooklyn will buy and those elsewhere will travel; New Jersey folks will take the Holland Tunnell and be over there in 45mins. for the soup and the rest of good food. Tabloid!!! most of Brooklyn knows the taste of cow foot, and they love it. And another thing, most of Brooklyn is second and third generation Caribbean people and they Love Caribbean food, even the whites, spanish, chinese, russian, where ever they come from as long as you live in Brooklyn you eat cow foot and ox tail.

Congrats German!!! Brooklyn awaits you and the famous soup. The country may be in a financial meltdown, but the soup will still have long lines.

This is not a risky move at all. Matter of fact it will be very profitable. The concern expressed at the start of the story is not applicable to German opening a restaurant in Brooklyn. Its more like opening a restaurant in the richest neighborhood in Guyana where theresidents don’t have stoves. I would love to get some soup some time. I used to go to German’s in Georgetown when I worked in the Kingsyon area, was a short walk away.

Opening a restaurant in New York (Manhattan) is a risky deeal now which can only be done by the rap stars and big name chefs and would reqquire millions. $130k would not buy the utensils in such a restaurant.

Try walking down Liberty Avenue and try to get a quick take-out from Sybils. The crowd is maddening.

Not everyone can be a businessman.He comes from a family who has been selling food for more than 50 years.In the 60’s I had clients coming from all over Berbice every week to do business, and they all cant wait to go and eat in a little Rat hole in Tiger Bay, called German. THE FOOD WAS GOOD.That is the first place I ever see so many
people from all religion eat Cow heel soup. and Cookup rice,It was German and Sheila followed by a night out on the town ,at Farm Fresh Inn, National , Rendevous,Bamboo Gardens,and a Few more places.Good luck Son.

Word Press offers several templates. So too is Mambo. If you have your own artwork, it is better. If not I can do something reasonable. I will throw a couple flash ads too. I do flash, it takes very long, so I will edit what I already have to suit you. Also tell me if you want to stream in near future. Video files takes more space……can also push to streaming sever so you can also do live streaming on ya site.
