Don’t you think teachers are not told that in training college. There are told all that. But when they finish their training and go back to their schools most of them revert to the old ways.

Tagore! That’s a school I visited on many occasions over the recent years to assess teachers there. Shame on that school for not showing sympathy! SHAME! I’ve always told teachers that they don’t know what their students are going thru’ at home and that they must always be kind to the students as many of them don’t have good parents. SHAME ON YOU TAGORE TEACHERS!

To think such a thought would be selfish dont you think ,look at all the comment you see how much it affects stranger just imagine what it would do to your family,you are still a child,everyone in live could find something i life that is not fare .but that is suppose to make you stronger not want to quit on life,and you would be missed and dearly too,find someone that you could share those feeling when you do have them,there is too much to live for.school is suppose to be the most fun not that i am saying not to do school work now,remember think positive all times and you would get positive results most of the time,but seriously there is always someone you could talk too,try it

We r all our brother’s/sister’s keepers, never mind the reason, we knowing the reason/s would not return her to this world.

It takes a village also to train a kid, that’s not happening, as soon as female teenager takes their life, persons starts mentioning, maybe “pregnant,”we need to stop procastinating, if what was mentioned about the mother leaving and father leaving to live with another woman is the problem or cause, none of us here knows the real reason.

Whatever is the reason, I hope parents, relatives and the school system would try to be more attentive to kids.

A kid not attending school regularly, grades falling, lateness, attire, (need for proper clothes and shoes,) falling asleep in class, fighting, being disrespectful to teachers and other students, are warning signs,that there are problems arising from somewhere, therefore, teachers should have proper tools to find out these problem/s, and not count on parents and families alone.

Ministry Of Education should become involved with kids that needs help, to cope and find a solution of this growing epidemic, as monkey see, monkey do attitude would become widespread, if not uprooted STAT.

I hope parents would not allow another kid to suffer alone in distress, without doing what they were placed on this earth to do, that is to be a “PROPER PARENT,” being poor is not a crime.

Agree with u Eastbankgirl, many parents, brothers/sisters and other relatives are not concerned with their attitudes towards kids, some of them treat kids like crap, some never enquire if there are problems at school with other kids etc:.

Some kids have no one they can trust, to speak with, concerning what is happening in their lives, thus, they turns to taking their lives, which is not the only way out.

Some kids are more strong, have friends who would listen and comfort them, which helps.

Kids are kids, if the school’s system starts developing a watchful eye on kids in schools, warning signals would be noticed.

I personally had family members, who never really cared about me when I was a kid, the amount of lies and blows that was given to me, would have made some kids hateful in their adult lives.

I went through it all and have grown to adapt, have 4given, but still cannot 4get.

I have grown adult children now, and have tried my utmost best as a mother to always be there for them, and still retains that motherly attitude.

Parents, sisters, brothers and families, please do show love to kids, they r the future generations, understand that your attitudes towards them as kids, would reflect on the relationship they would have with you, when they becomes adults.

This is very sorrowful, rest in peace little angel.

Thanks for the details corentyne girl so we could have a broader understanding of this young girl’s passed, all this commotion in this girl life…her mother abandoning her, her father living with a next woman.. The Lord going deal with them when he ready. And ashame on that school no respect for the death of there student that attend there even though she tookk her own life…

If you knew her that well, why were’t you her friend? If it bothers you so much that no one else is mourning her then do something about it. Gather your friends and say a few prayers for her, light a few candles. Attend her funeral and take some flowers. Be proactive instead of outraged.

This girl was a student at Tagore Memorial Secondary. She was a very quiet girl and had few friends. Her correct name is Doumattie Rampersaud. She has been living with her uncle for a while since her mother left her and her father is living home with another woman. Thus, the poor child was left to live with her uncle.
The child, who had on an Indian outfit at the said time, took off her shawl and hung herself.
The school has since not even gathered as a body to pay respects to the girl. Not even a black flag was put up and no minute of silence! How abt that!

this is sad, and me as a teen sumtimes I wanna take my own life teens do it cuz their stressed with things going on at school,family, friends, mostly family cuz they don’t be fare I think about it everyday I feel as if I kill myself I won’t be missed that’s how bad it is I could now see why she did some thing like that.

I am surprised that there was no mention of the police at the scene,only that of the undertakers removing the body and no doubt removing any evidence left at the scene. Anytime a death occurs in that fashion, the uniformed authorities should first secure the scene and treat it as a crime scene until proven otherwise. There are too many times that perpetrators manipulate a crime scene to resemble sucide when in fact it’s a homicide

After the village stops gossiping about this dear child , I sincerely hope the police will do an investigation and not close the case file on suicide. For each suicide there is a solid story behind it. Circumstances beyond one’s control, over whelming feelings of sadness and hopelessness over come our rational thinking process and we see death as the only way out. I’m extremely saddned by this child’s suicide and prays that she finds peace in God’s kingdom.
