We have been talking about power outages in this country for sometime now. The people at Skeldon are saying that they have enough power to sell to the national grid, but GPL cannot handle it. If this is true, why is not someone in the PM office coordinating these efforts? How long must Guyanese wait? GPL seem to be getting these power generators at a high cost, and the people are paying through the nose. If the problem with getting the power from the Skeldon project to the people is transmission lines, Why has this problem not addressed? Sombody from the PM office or GPL please provide some answers.

The total revenue they generate on a monthly basis is nowhere close to offsetting the monthly operating expenditure - electricity, gasoline, maintenance costs, telephone/Internet bills, etc. The company is surviving on foreign loans and grants.

The people of Guyana owe GWI plenty money (revenue) amounting to a few billions and GWI owe GPL maybe hundreds of millions or a few billions........what a dilemma.

They been operating at a deficit for God knows how long!
