-no foul play suspected
A 68-year-old woman and 29-year-old man were yesterday found dead in their respective homes at Silvertown, Linden and no foul play is suspected.
Sometime after 6 am yesterday Una Smartt of 152 2nd St was found dead in a chair in her bathroom by her nephew.
According to neighbours the young man climbed through the window of the upper flat of the building where his aunt lived alone following reports from a concerned occupant of the house. The occupant of the bottom flat said that the previous night he noticed the window of the house open and had called out to Una but got no response.
Noticing the window still open yesterday morning and again getting no response he decided to inform her nephew who lives close by.
Later in the morning some minutes after 9 the brother of 29-year-old Vibert Moore of 112 2nd St, Silvertown found him dead in a seated position in a chair in the living room area.
His brother said that Moore was epileptic and experienced frequent attacks.
It is believed that both persons died of natural causes since there were no signs of violence or theft in either of the houses.
Post-mortem examinations are to be done.

very strange indeed.
R.I.P………
not so strange, i heard of many such cases before, one just waiting for the other to go.
What so strange? two deaths in the same village? or thinking the 2 in the same house?
Did the authorities check for gas leaks? It is too strange! did they check for what they might have eaten?
My condolences goes out to these two families, may peace and blessings be upon you in this time of your bereavement. Rest in peace.
When death strikes where ever you are that’s it.
My Condolences to the Respective Families.
Just waiting for the other to go?? The deceased are not related,
.Are they??
from the report ‘open windows in both cases the same person enter the houses’
SN needs to report with more clarity.
strange phenomenon indeed both in a sitting position, my sympathies to both families.
Aunt Una she used to take care of me when I was younger. Oh this is sad my mom will be devastated.
Sr/Sra Simplicity:
My Sympathy to you, be strong.
My condolences to the families. But when reading how they both dies in the same position is extremely strange.
I BELIVE THAT THE TWO OF TMEM EAT SOME THINK MAY BE THEY BUY IT FROM SOME BOBDY. I KNOW OF SOME THINK LIKE THAT HAPPY FOUE YEARS AGO PEOPLE BUY FRUIT FROM SOMEONE AND WHEN THEY EAT IT THEY DEAD
Suppose these people were starving or something? You don’t know in Guyana, nowadays, people living alone, and they have nothing, but would’nt ask for help!!!
I doubt it…Guyana is still a place where neighbours help each other out. even more so outside of GT.
its a strange thing…..
It’s tragic two people die from the same village, but you cannot have a seizure and still be seated, if that’s what happened to the young man. My condolence goes out to both family.
Freespeech, two different families, from different homes, not related. Nothing to wait for the other to go.
but they are not from the same street, so you are saying these things just happen just like duh…..and they both died in a chair.
No the way they died…….anyway it doesn’t matter now.
Sorry I really did not realize that they were in separate homes.
Regrets. My condolences to the respective families.
I am from silvertown, we always look out for each other, If one takes too long to rise in the morning, neighbours will call your phone to see if there is a problem.
