It seems like Jim Jones was allowed to continue in Guyana under the guise of religion. His son spoke about the guns and large amount of cash found after the mass suicide. They were to shoot themselves with the guns if found but the cash was kept a secret from the followers. If you read about the other cults I mentioned you will discover the madness as with People's Temple. Yes, a lesson can be learned even after 30 years and that is monitor every foreign activity in the country whether it be religious or not and yet further know who or what you are importing from other countries. You could be harboring terrorists (Lest us not forget 9-11). Finally, do not listen to fanatics who claim to be Jesus or who say they will return to earth 7 years after their death [Heaven's Gate leader]. That should raise red flags immediately.
