“De man holla that I urine on he farm and then he run towards me and stab me,” said Samuel Duncan, who was stabbed in the chest and abdomen just after 17:00 hrs on Monday at Guyhoc Park.
Duncan, 26, of ‘E’ Field, Sophia was surrounded by family members as he lay on his bed in the Open Ward at the Georgetown Public Hospital yesterday.
In a strained voice, Duncan related to Stabroek News that he left his home that afternoon and was walking through Guyhoc Park when he felt the urge to urine. He stated “I stopped near de blacka [Lamaha Canal] and relieved myself”. But as he was about to move off from the spot “a man come running towards me saying that I just urinate on he farm.”
Duncan said that he did not notice any plants around the area, just bushes. He went on to say that the man had a knife in one hand and a scissors in the other but he did not know which one the man had used to stab him twice.
He said further that after stabbing him, the man robbed him of his cell phone which he had in his left-side pants’ pocket before fleeing the scene.
Duncan said he was left lying on the road crying out in pain and some time later, another man who was passing went to his assistance and rushed him to the hospital in a taxi. He said the incident was reported at the police station but he did not know if his attacker had been arrested.

Hackett, you and i know as a man, when you gotta to go’ you got to do what you got to do when nature calls, although it’s a quality of life offense, and you and i know that if you’re in the city how many places can you go to ease yourself and you may be far away from home, what do you do pee on your self or relieve your self the best way you can, no matter what this man did not deserve to be stabbed, hope he is found and arrested.
Stabb a man for watering plants with personal acid……sounds a bit extreme.
Rob him of his cell phone???

if you can’t hold it, find the least offensive spot to release it; not in front of people’s house, gate, car, property or in this case crops; If you dont know the difference, walk with a I liter Buster soda bottle. If you going drinking, walk with a 2 liter.
Reporter, the verb is ‘to urinATE”. He felt the urge to urinATE. Anyway, an extreme punishment for a disgusting and all too frequent act. You don’t see women squatting all over the place relieving themselves.
Becaues women can hold IT longer than men. Gravity is more sensitive to men. Our biologicial make up is different. Why after a dance in Guyana, women form circles around each other by the road side. Public bath rooms will help. When you gotta pee, you gotta pee.
That’s why alot of women have urinary tract infection,cause they choose to hold it in.

Yvette, I am sorry that he was stabed for this , this guy should be more responsible..I think the blacka is the lamaha canal where they get water to drink and he thought that this was the best place to urinate, they do all sorts of unhealthy things in that canal… a lot of people plant their little kitchen garden on the bank of that canal so there is no doubt in my mind that he urine on the man’s plants which can put him in lots of problems but not to be stabbed, I condemn that. ( Cows and Goats will help this farmer with manure).
DISRESPECT,,,How can you relieve yourself on someone elses property,,,,DISRESPECT, this attitude that people have, especially men to relieve themselves anywhere in public is illegal and unsanatary, and should stop, in light of AIDS and other STD’s, you don’t want anyone relieving themselves on your property.

This criminal when caught should be charged for attempt murder and robbery.
No body here will like to have someone urinate on their plants…This is what cause this big problem. The farmer that was involved, maybe that is his level of intellegence..he may had previous experience with people urinating on his plants and plan to attack anyone else caught doing so. so my friends this guy that urinate there did it at the wrong place at the wrong time. ( We may have to wait on the other side of this story) it might end up that he was picking the man’s vegetables and even more…
It should not be too difficult for the police to catch this “farmer” since his obvious passion for his farm would suggest that he revisit the area sooner rather than later.
i don’t think that man has a garden there,i would call him a”presumsious” thief,we don’t want people like that in our society,GPF when ever you put your hands on that man,lost him in prison……….to the young man in hospital,i pray that they will look after you well ,god is in charge!!!!!.
