- court told

Acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson granted bail in the sum of $190,000 to a man who allegedly forged a Guyana passport and inserted a fake United States (US) visa.

Bascom Lallbachan, 44, of 21 Good Hope, Mahaica pleaded not guilty to charges of uttering a forged document and conspiracy to commit a felony when he appeared at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday.

It is alleged that on November 27 at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport, Timehri, Lallbachan uttered to a police constable one Republic of Guyana passport in favour of himself with a US visa inserted purporting to show it was genuine and had been issued to him by the US authorities knowing the same to be false.

Further, between October 1 and November 22 at Station Street, Kitty the accused along with a person or persons unknown conspired to commit a felony – that is to say he inserted a fake US visa in a Republic of Guyana passport in favour of himself.

Lallbachan was granted bail in the sum of $95,000 on  each charge and he has to return to court on January 20.

What he did is forgery and he will have to deal with the consequences for his action. He’s not one of the many lucky ones that got away with such crime.

  6. finman cousin NETHERLANDS says:

i can’t imagine why anyone after voting for change and getting a democratic government, who is developing the country at a rapid rate unheard of before with all the trappings of transparency, would go to such extremes to leave, it is mind boggling,or maybe it is because of this………..The sugar workers have to realise that in reality it is their votes which keep this government in place, not only to weaken their own standard of living and belittle their children’s future, but to cripple the rest of our fragile economy with “square pegs in round holes”.
Cheddi (Joey) Jagan (Jr) ………. i hope the security people read these blogs lots of reveling info 15g us for fake visa i wonder if the guy who give this figure paid that amount (ice) reading hear too

    • Soldier UNITED STATES says:

The voting pattern and the govt. has nothing to do with this…this a maybe, some fella that has some extra money and was trying something…The destruction of Guyana started with the Burnham regime…28 years of massive rigging of elections to keep them in power to mash the country up left, right and certer, chased a lot of guyanese out of their own country to the extent that some of them never return or want to do so..even with the rapid growth and developments that is now taking place… Fineman cousin it is now free to make a visit….

  7. betterhopegal CANADA says:

Well the poor guy should pay for his crime but the person or persons that gave the fake visa should also be found and charged.
PPL need to open their eyes and stop paying top dollars for fake visa..casue it will eventually back fire on them. I know guyana is hard and people r looking for a better life but try to do it the right way.

  8. malaika06 UNITED STATES says:

I’m always curious why the police can never find the masterminds/master forgers behind these type of crimes? Is that so hard to do? To do some investigative work and bring the bigger fish to justice????

    • John Smith GUYANA says:

They need to go Canal #s 1 and 2, West Bank Demerara and New Road, Vreed-en-hoop, West Coast Demerara and they are going to find some of the masterminds. They know exactly where they are, they just don’t want to do anything because they are benifiting

  9. Refugee UNITED STATES says:

While I apprecitae the desperation of Guyanese to run from the homeland, when you do things the wrong way, peter pays for paul and paul pays for all. This type of thing only solidifies the US embassy’s position that they need to be unreasonable and difficult with Guyanese and essentially treat us like the stuff in their septic tanks. While, I know that People think that the good Ole USA is the ultimate, there are other countries that people can consider migrating to which would welcome you and give you a good life.

One more thing to think about, when you are discriminated against because of your nationality for example when people of other countries think that Guyanese are uneducated, unexposed backyardians and treat you accordingly, when you are illtreated in foreign airports like in that speck in the Caribbean Sea, Barbados, or when citizens of the countries in which you hope to live in, protest against foreignors like us entering their land……. it is things like this, that feed the perception that immigrants are lawless and contribute towards the decay of their society and this always makes it hard to “Find better opportunities outside of Guyana”

  10. SAM-MAN UNITED STATES says:

MALAIKA COMMENT IS SO TRUE (GETTING THE BIGGER FISH)BUT THIS WOULDN’T HAPPEN IN GUYANA BIGGER FISH HAVE BIGGER MONEY THEY CAN AFFORD TO BUY ANY OFFICIAL IN GUYANA. AS YOU KNOW BRIBE ORIGNATED FROM GUYANA. YOU KNOW THIS POOR GUY LOST ALL HIS MONEY, HE JUST TRYING TO HAVE A BETTER LIFE IN THE STATES JUST LIKE ALL OF US, IF GUYANA WAS BETTER WE WOULDN’T BE HERE. NOBODY WANTS GUYANESE IN THEIR COUNTRY NOT EVEN IN SURINAME WONDER WHY?

    • Guy123 UNITED KINGDOM says:

Sam man, nobody wants Guyanese in their country because these people vote out their incompetent governments, and why should they accomodate people who would’nt do the same in their own country, when you want to enjoy life in a country you have to fight for it yourself, and that is what the people in other countries do!!!
