Bascom Lallbachan, 44, of 21 Good Hope, Mahaica pleaded not guilty to charges of uttering a forged document and conspiracy to commit a felony when he appeared at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday.

Further, between October 1 and November 22 at Station Street, Kitty the accused along with a person or persons unknown conspired to commit a felony – that is to say he inserted a fake US visa in a Republic of Guyana passport in favour of himself.
Lallbachan was granted bail in the sum of $95,000 on each charge and he has to return to court on January 20.

I totally agree with you SAM-MAN….
I want one and all 2 leave dis place. cause i try the proper way and de turn me down.
IS ONE THING IN GUYANA EITHER YOU TRY TO GET OUT OF THE COUNTRY OR GET KILLED IF YOU ESTABLISH A BUSINESS.IF NOT YOU HAVE TO BECOME A CRIMINAL TOO AND STAGE SOME ROBBERIES TO SURVIVE WITH THE NORTH AMERICAN LIFESTYLE IN GUYANA.
This isn’t anything new! This type of behavior has been going on for years now. So this is not a surprise at all. It is unfortunate that the unlawful act, such as this gentleman committed, is the only option that some guyanese have in leavin the country. This type of dishonest behavior has existed for a long time, that technology is in place with tighter measures to stop people in their tracks. I think, that guyanese have had a reputation of flawd for long (those who cimmitted the unlawfull acts times ago) that now, it is extremely difficult for even the innocent people(those with the proper docs) to get a visa, on the 2nd try, muchless the 3rd to travel. I agree with some of the above comments that it isn’t easy to get a visa, even for those with right the documents. It is a struggle. However, as a guyanese, it was challenging for me to get a visa even out of guyana. I was residing in another country and was a student at the time. Anyhow, it is a struggle to survive and people, not only in guyana, but in other parts of the world take desperate measures in the effort to make it to the US. They (other folks) too, fake it to make it! For all guyanese and non-guyanese reading this, it always pays to be honest. The “ole” saying goes “honesty is the best policy.” However, life is free and so are the choices we make. Make the best chioces. For the bad choices, you proceed at your own risk. I know it is hard in some situations, but there IS A WAY out. Guyanese people are SMART and only if all that knowledge could be used to build the nation. Guyana was once the bread-basket of the caribbean. Now, with world the crisis, it could very well regain that title.
Honestly, LIFE IS NOT A HEAVENLY IN AMERICA! So it seems, until you set foot on the soil and begin all the paper work, find a job (if properly qualified for one), find an appartment to rent in USD, begin to pay the numerous bills etc… The whole point is that we need to stop thinking that running away from guyana will solve all our problems. It might just create more. I talked to a great number of guyanese and about 30%! wish they could return to guyana, only if, there are jobs to fit their needs. Nevertheless, life continues to be a struggle for many who reside in the US. Trust in God and He will supplly all your needs according to His riches in Glory.
Faithful Brother
