Six-month-old Glencia Salvador who was found dead after being left in the care of her father, died as a result of blunt trauma and concussion to the brain, a post-mortem examination performed yesterday revealed.
Police had said in a release that the child was left unattended by her father on Saturday in their home at Nappi Village, Central Rupununi.
According to their investigations Salvador was in the care of her father, who subsequently left her unattended. She was later found lying motionless by another relative around 8 pm. The baby was taken to the Lethem Hospital where she was pronounced dead on arrival.

just plane wickedness to do that to such innocence
Painful indeed.
Hope justice is served in this case.
May her little soul rest in peace.
I feel such futility and despair expressing every day, several times a day, my grief and outrage at another violent death in Guyana. This particular assault on innocence is beyond the pale.
I knew something was wrong here when this news was first published..The father should be held responsible for this…He had no right to left an infant like that unattended in what I think should be a very desolute area….Lock his ass up and investigate him firstly….
Can’t imagine! probably fell from the bed while left unattended.
May the Little Angel’s Soul rest in Peace..
IT DO HAPPENS.
My thoughts too Arnold; I hope she fell, for the father’s sake.
Poor baby, may her tiny soul rest in the arms of gentle Jesus.
I think the baby fell, she was just left unattended and the misfortune happened. The poor soul.
Sorry for the baby. I have 4 kids including a 4 months old. Why are some Bloggers pointing fingers, don.t blame the father. Maybe it was an accident, the baby died of blunt force trauma, it could be a fall from being left unattended. Rembember these people live in poverty and sub-standard conditions. Maybe the father had errands to run and could not take the baby with him and just left for a little while. Bloggers please wait for the facts before we pass judgement.
c’om on zainno, listen to your self,` maybe the father had errants to run and could’nt take the baby’ well i am about to pass judgement, under no circumstances, period should you leave a child especially a 6mths. old infand unattended, ok lets say that the child did fall, if the father was around maybe he could have prevented the child from falling, but he was’nt around so he is solely responsible, if as you said he had errants to run take the child with you or wait till some else is available to look at the child, would you leave your 4mts. old unattended?, if you do,stop dont do it, and it’s against the law in canada to leave a child unattended, for crying out loud, man.
they should jail him 4 leaving a sweet little angle alone is he a dad or a beast the children always have to suffer may god have her with his angels rest in peace little soul
this is a wicked father if he did it and left the poor angel to suffer…then he should be put in a cell and locked down for the rest of hs life…..
GIVE HIM SOME BLUNT TRAUMA, TOO.
Com’on Stan! you’re more intelligent. Without any shadow of a doubt, was an accident. Poor Angel!
Well this father has been accused, tried and condemed and there is not a fact to prove him guilty. Could this be just an accident? These things have been happening way back as I could remembered. Babies have been falling off of bed, strangling between bed, walking into trench, walking into traffic. There is always the unguarded moment when things happened beyond our controll. May this child’s soul R.I.P as she returns to the safe arms of the waiting angel
East Bank Gal…I undersatnd the points you are making…but why did he left the child unattended..he has left the gap open for all sorts of questions, including behind bars…
accident do happen, and then again he did leave the child alone……
i guess someone else should be responsible for her death, like the boggy man!
not trying to be funny east bank gal – he may not have caused the death directly, but he contributed indirectly by leaving her alone.
