A 73-year-old security guard was yesterday morning discovered dead in the St. Pius Primary School compound, Middle Road La Penitence where he worked. Dead is Rendell Adolphus Michael of Lodge Housing Scheme.
According to reports reaching Stabroek News there were no marks of violence on the man’s body and it is believed that he died from natural causes. Police said yesterday that they are awaiting the results of a post-mortem examination to determine the cause of death. This newspaper was told that the man who has been guarding the school for some eight years was discovered by a teacher around 7:30 am sitting in a crouched position on a desk on a corridor in the upper flat of one of the school’s buildings.
People of this age should not be working. The poor man must have died from too much exposure to the elements

Right, J.S. He should have been living on a comfortable pension. Sadly, he must have had to supplement his meagre pension with the guard work money. Conclusion: he died from economic violence.
This is so sad, he may have died from an heart attack, or strokes, condolences to his family.
