It is not only that the GPF is lack of professionalism, corrupt and incompetence -(but…) – your second paragraph is the reason.
Anyway SN or any other private newspaper should name the person involved and ministry/minister who was called upon. Reason is not personal but for John, Dick and Harry Public to know what kind of people are placed to run their country -

It should realised, that the Police Force is a mere pawn to the political administration; each day, this is being mirrored by their lack of proffessionalism, corruption and incompetence.

The GPF seems to be slavish to their political masters and is in a constant – helpless and pitifull state of paralysis; it is for this reason, there is a lack of public confidence in the Police Force.

Clearly, Dr. Luncheon, ‘has been out to lunch’ for over fifteen years, along with the political administration he has been serving, since, it is only now, (after fifteen years) they have discovered the ‘lapses’, ‘lack of coordination’, ‘weakness’, ‘weakness could have been exploited’, ‘all sort of possibilities’ etc., etc.

Hopefully, Mr. Roger Khan’s trial and testimony, will help to shed some light on some of the ‘lapses’, ‘weaknesses’ and other violations of the rule of law, (including, international law) Dr. Roger Luncheon, is talking about.

And, Mr. Luncheon and the administration should be aware, that though they were ‘out to lunch’ for over fifteen years, most Guyanese and the international community, have not done the same.

What probe?they know how they do it in guyana when you are an offical and someone big in guyana rules and regulations dont count,they let him through without checking him that all it is to it ,and that is the end of the probe .

An investigation into ANY security breach automatically triggers and investigation, this is standard operating procedure. The problem I have with that is that it will just remain an investigation, and no corrective action will be recommended, and none will be acted on,,,,it will be business as usual Guyana style. This situation and other similar situations are a part of the Guyana culture, Guyana is operating with 19th century policies in the 21st century.

This one is very easy to track down.All you have to do is, do a back ground ckeck on the people present and pass with the responsibility of operating the lounge. Then let them explain how so much wealth was accumulated on the salary they make/made.Back groudn check should include overseas bank accounts in Canada and USA.

You remember what happened to the prisoner who went into Camp Street with ammo in his pocket? He got a sound trashing and was eventually sent to the morgue for safe keeping. One of my good blogging friend said that there had to be a gun for the ammo and the prisoner got just what he bargained for. I am suprised that this passenger was not given the same treatment, nah, I am not suprised. Ah!! We are all equal under the law but some of us are MORE equal than others.

NAME AND SHAME THE CULPRIT
It is certain that the VIP lounge has been used to ship narcotics illegally out of Guyana.
The lounge should be closed immediately with Police sealing tape until the GPF can ensure international laws are not being broken.
