A post-mortem examination on the remains of the East Ruimveldt hairdresser reveal-ed that she was stabbed 13 times about the body and the cause of death was given as haemorrhage.

This newspaper understands that a stab to the neck severed the jugular vein.
The examination was performed at the Georgetown Hospital mortuary by government pathologist Nehaul Singh and was witnessed by her relatives.

Shenese Richardson-Austin, 25, of Lot 502 West Ruimveldt was stabbed multiple times when she was confronted by three of four gunmen who invaded her home. She was also beaten. Richardson-Austin died at the Georgetown Hospital less than two hours later.
At the time of the incident the woman, her sister Rayana Haynes and their mother Jean Ann Richardson were home. Richardson-Austin had just returned home and was eating in her room when the men barged in.

Relatives had said that while the men escaped with gold jewellery and an undisclosed amount of cash, they were convinced that the gunmen were sent to kill Richardson-Austin, judging from the way they operated.

Haynes had recalled that around 11 pm a man called at the house for cigarettes saying that he was paying with $500. Seconds after handing him the requested item, she turned to make change and it was at this point that the man forced his way into the house and signalled to three masked gunmen nearby to come inside.

According to Haynes, she was forced into a room where her mother lay asleep while the others headed to a back room, after one of them grabbed a knife from a kitchen drawer. The woman had insisted that a stranger would not know where they kept their knives.

While in the back room, the men stabbed Richardson-Austin multiple times, beating her in the process before fleeing. They spent at least 15 minutes in the house. The woman who was found lying in a pool of blood was rushed to the hospital.

Relatives had recounted years of abuse the woman suffered at the hands of her husband of three years. She relocated to her mother’s residence four months ago and it was from there that she operated her hairdressing business.

According to relatives, the man made threats, kidnapped her and would publicly hit and confront her.
The man was arrested when he turned up at the hospital, after she had died.

Gruesome indeed Dove. I can’t describe what I felt when I read that. Men have mothers, sisters, daughters…I doubt I will ever be able to understand how some men can do the things they do. May the Lord grant Richardson-Austin the peace she deserves…her struggle and pain are over now.

    • Do you live in America???? I did until I witnessed the carnage first hand in the hospitals, streets, and prisons.

The problem is that USA is the most violent society in the world. I lived under the ADT alarm system for 25 years. When I left Guyana it was never like this. Now all the deportees they jail like pigs in the usa are let loose on GT without a penny.

I have no illusions for I raised three children in the usa as a single parent. Not one is a criminal for my military training served me well. I raised them far away from the streets of Brooklyn in upstate NY. I would not live in Brooklyn if you paid me millions.

Now that there is mucho homeless people in the USA and no jobs what will happen??? I remember the Ronnie Reagan tent cities and working two jobs to feed my youth while attending college. Boy was it ever hard!!! I cried for Guyana every day.
See, I saw the writing on the wall and sold my house in usa while I could and built the one in GT and the one here in JA. Everyone is not calling me crazy now for they are stuck and I am not.

Do not compare apples and oranges for the brain drain of slavery has the Caribbean in tatters. Almost all of the old Guyana Defence Force l and Police Force lives out of Guyana. Watch the europeans move in once it becomes ungovernable. The Spanish are taking over and gentrifying Jamaica too.
      Ask yourself who benefits???

This young woman is the product of government inaction and complicity. The first time my grown son hit his wife in the USA, I called the cops on him. that was his first and last time.
Now stop being cowardly and speak truth to power. Speak loudly in a clear voice and they will listen and change. If not, do sit ins until the managers of this govt wake up. I am on the battlefield here so wake up!!!!!

How would the police get information from the husband? without doing a little squeezeing, simply won’t talk! or good police work, and a reward that leads to the capture of her assassins.

A clear case of a crime of passion.
The number of stab wounds do so indicate.

      OK…now is the husband’s turn.

What is the definition of ’some roughing up?’
Wait ah gat fuh look it up in the Guyanese Dictionary as
      edioted by the Misister.

      Ok…it is nat torture.

Well I agree a little roughing up is right for the husband for the crime seems way out for a simple lady hairdresser.
