Cabinet has cleared four contracts in excess of $545 million to secure medical equipment and supplies for the local health sector. Dr. Roger Luncheon, Cabinet Secretary, made this disclosure at his weekly post-cabinet briefing on Christmas Eve noting that it is a significant investment.

He said that $112.7 million has been identified for securing medical equipment and related supplies for the Linden Hospital Complex.
An additional $45.18 million and $302.7 million will go towards procuring deoxyribonucleic (DNA) and ribonucleic acid (RNA) and polymerase chain reaction equipment, while some $86.4 million would be spent on drugs and medical supplies and delivery of laboratory equipment for the health sector.
