		<description>I am so enlightened by this article in The Scene. I remember my times as a young girl too ordering some channa with sour, pickled mango, and gooseberry syrup in primary school. Then when I got to high school, lunch time - even though I always took lunch to school - was an exciting time, because I&#039;d go to the canteen and purchase either an egg ball or a cassava ball, of course with sour - the one that tastes like achar. Oh the good ol&#039; days. Now as I reside overseas, I found this article to be sooooooo inviting and homey, I couldn&#039;t resist reading about it. In grad school at the end of each quarter, with a particular professor, we&#039;d have what he calls an International Day. It&#039;s a day when we bring popular dishes from our home country - and for the past 3 or 4 times I attended, my popular dish was curried channa. I gave them a combination right there...and you know what, they have been hooked from the first time they tasted it. So now, I am asked to bring in some each time! (SMILE) Well, I just wanted to commend whomever did this article, you enlightened and refreshed my taste buds and perhaps stimulated me to make some channa today.
