Carifesta Fashion Village plans moving apace

Chairman of the Carifesta Fashion Focus Committee, Sonia Noel has said that the committee has been working to ensure that the logistics of the Fashion Village are sorted and ready for execution.

According to a press release, she is extremely elated to see the number of young Guyanese designers that have come forward and signed up to be a part of the Carifesta Celebrations. Noel added that Carifesta is definitely to be celebrated in Guyana because it is an opportunity to showcase to the wider Caribbean region and by extension the world, what beautiful people and products the country has to offer.

She said the participation of other Caribbean countries in the Fashion Village “has been overwhelming, many countries have confirmed their participation while other are still in the decision process of how many designers will be coming as part of their contingent.”

Noel has promised a spectacular showing of clothing, jewellery and accessories. She also mentioned the two mega fashion shows featuring participating designers and said that models, stylist and volunteers will have another chance to be a part of an exciting and fun-filled event.

Noel said her team was looking for male and female models to wear the clothing of designers who will be showcasing at the mega fashion shows in the Fashion Village.

Models between the ages of 16 and 25 are invited to a casting next Saturday, June 7 at King’s Plaza Hotel, Main Street at 3 pm.
