Trinidadian chutney sensations Adesh Samaroo and Heeralal Rampertab are providing three nights of entertainment at concerts billed for Uitvlugt, the Starlight Drive-In and Canje, Berbice.

At a press briefing held in front of Digicel’s Cell Site at the Courtyard Mall on Thursday, Samaroo who arrived in Guyana on Thursday, told reporters that he was excited to be back after almost two years.

He said chutney fans can look forward to a good show with hour-long performances from him and his counterpart. The shows are being promoted by Sound Proof Entertainment and are the first of two dubbed ‘Carifesta Masala’.

The second set of shows is expected to be held in the first week of August and would be reggae based, W R Reaz one of the promoters related.

Local chutney singer Mahendra Ramkellawan, who was also present at the briefing, added that the show would be one with a difference. 

The first show was held last night at the Uitvlugt Ground West Coast Demerara; the second show is billed for tonight at Starlight Drive-In, Montrose East Coast Demerara, and the third, tomorrow at the Canje ground East Berbice. Admission for the shows is just $500.

Persons who purchase any handset from a Digicel cell site will receive free tickets for the shows.
