They have used the catch-phrase ‘Imagine you there’. But who exactly will be there? Besides the local line-up of stars vying for titles and the crystal trophies up for grabs, there have been reports of several homecomings. Recently, the committee announced that Guyanese Don Trent, who is Barbados-based, is homebound for the event.

According to the committee, Trent is known for mesmerizing audiences with riveting and classy performances, and his charming personality only adds to his ability to draw people in. Trent, popularly known as the ‘eye candy’ grabbed attention when he released the smash song, “Me and You” which drew a string of fans in the region and beyond.

“The song represented the essence of Trent and his sound. It was soulful, sexy and clever.  It was a perfect marriage. The song moved into heavy rotation soon after its release,” the release from Accolade said.

This year, Trent has released two songs: “Hannah” and “Dangerous”. His flavor is his soca/dancehall/ pop fused music.
Guyanese Pamela Maynard, a hit artiste of the 1970s is also heading home for Accolade, and according to the committee, no one would be left, “Lost, Lonely and Helpless”- the title of Maynard’s hit single from the 70s. Maynard is widely regarded as a versatile singer with strengths in reggae, soul, R&B, jazz, calypso and soca.

“Pamela is a talented Caribbean diva with a vocal range and expression to make an immediate impression…with professional experience in music”, the committee said of the singer.
