Another taxi driver robbed

Another taxi driver was attacked and robbed of his car and a number of other items on Friday night.

According to a police press release around 20:00 hours on Friday, taxi service operator  Mohamed Khan was hired by two men to go to Section ‘K’ Campbelville. Investigations revealed that while in the area he was held at gunpoint and relieved of his licensed pistol and ammunition, jewellery and his burgundy AT 192 Toyota Carina motor car HB 6440. The men then escaped. Investigations are continuing the police said.

Meanwhile around 23:15 hours on Friday, police ranks in the Stabroek Market area stopped and searched a man who was acting suspiciously. An unlicensed Walther pistol was found in his possession. He was arrested and is in police custody. Charges will be made shortly.
