A miner was electrocuted in the Cuyuni River last Wednesday and his decomposed body was fished out of the river on Saturday.

A police press release said that the decomposed body of Trevor Kooseram was found on at Dukwarri, Cuyuni River. A post-mortem examination was performed by Pathologist Nehaul Singh yesterday and he gave the cause of death as electrocution and drowning.

According to reports, Kooseram was working on a water dredge in the Cuyuni River area when he turned on an electric generator and apparently came into contact with an exposed wire. He was electrocuted and fell into the river.
