Body of suspected destitute found

The lifeless body of an unidentified suspected destitute was yesterday morning discovered under an abandoned building at the corner of Louisa Row and D’Urban Street.

Police said in a release that investigations are being conducted into the circumstances surrounding the death of the man who was discovered around 10:30 am.
A post-mortem examination is to be conducted shortly on the body which is lying at the Lyken’s Funeral Home.

The release added that the deceased is a male of African descent, about 45 to 50 years of age, thin-build, dark-complexioned, about 5’ 2” in height, with a grey beard and was clad in a grey shirt and grey short pants.

Anyone with information that may lead to the identification of the deceased is asked to contact the police.
