Patentia man is latest road fatality

A 46-year-old pedal cyclist died yesterday morning after he was struck down by a motor pick-up vehicle on the Wales Public Road, West Bank Demerara (WBD) and police have a suspect in custody.

Dead is Daniel Seeprasad of Patentia, WBD.
Police in a press release said they are investigating the fatal accident which occurred around 2:20 am.
Investigations revealed that the victim was riding his bicycle along the roadway when he was struck down by the driver of a motor pick-up vehicle, which drove away. He was taken to the West Demerara Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Subsequent investigations led to the arrest of a man from Nismes, WBD, who was suspected to be under the influence of alcohol at the time. His motor vehicle is in police custody, the release added.
