Post-mortem confirms pensioner strangled

A post-mortem examination performed on the remains of Hector Fitzroy Marshall, the pensioner who was on Monday found bound and gagged in his ransacked South Ruimveldt home, yesterday revealed that he was strangled.

A police release said that government pathologist Dr. Nehaul Singh who conducted the examination gave the cause of death as manual strangulation.

Meanwhile the suspect who was picked up during the wee hours of Thursday is still being questioned by investigators.

A motive for the 64–year-old man’s death is still unclear.
