A pedal cyclist was found to be in possession of an unlicensed revolver along with ammunition when ranks of a mobile police patrol stopped and searched him on Sunday night.

According to a police release, around 22:30 hours on Sunday, ranks conducted a search on a man who was riding a bicycle along Dennis Street, Prashad Nagar.

An unlicensed .38 revolver along with three .38 rounds and two .32 rounds were found in his possession.
He was arrested and is in police custody. Charges will be made shortly, the release added.
