Incest accused refused bail

At the Albion Court on Friday, Magistrate Chandra Sohan remanded a man to prison after he appeared before him to answer charges of three counts of incest.

The court heard that between December 1 and 3, 2008 and on January 2
last, the 35-year-old man of Rose Hall Town Squatting Area had carnal knowledge of his two daughters, aged 11 and 14 years old.

Police Chief Prosecutor ‘B’ Division, Inspector Fazil Karimbaksh, asked for bail to be refused because of the seriousness of the offence.

Reports are that the man would commit the offence when he was drunk. The children’s mother had reported the matter to the police.
The man will return to court on February 17.
