Book of condolence opened for former Indian president

Former president of India Ramaswamy Venkataraman died on Tuesday. He was 98 years old.

Venkataraman served as President from 1987 to 1992, a press release from the Indian High Commission said. He also held the posts of Finance Minister and Defence Minister before taking over as the Indian Vice President from 1984.

A condolence book will be opened today and tomorrow between 10 am to midday, at the Indian High commission, located at 307 Church Street, Queenstown.
