Holika to be planted today

The Guyana Hindu Dharmic Sabha says Basant Panchmi occurs today and as such devotees worldwide will plant holika.

In a press release the Sabha said it has organised a satsangh at the Shri Krishna Mandir in Campbellville for the occasion at 7 pm. Pandit Reepu Daman Persaud with assistance from Pandit Jagmohan Persaud will conduct the puja.

The release said too with the planting of holika the season of Basant Ritu begins. Chowtaal groups will begin singing the appropriate chowtaals every evening in a different area, the Sabha said, adding that the Spring season creates a beautiful atmosphere for the community to come together.
