Nagas grabs 3/5 in 20/20

Former West Indies and Guyana all-rounder Mahendra Nagamootoo continues to impress in the domestic league in Trinidad and Tobago.

On Wednesday evening he grabbed three wickets for five runs to lead his team Central Sports to victory over Caroni Savannah Road in the Carib 20/20 Cricket Shield.

Central Sports batted first and scored 116 for six in their allotted overs.
Caroni Savannah Road then replied with 70 for eight with Nagamootoo’s wickets coming off his allotted four overs.

Waheed Edwards, another Guyanese, topscored for Caroni Savannah Road with 19.
Elsewhere, the consistent Guyanese Neil Williams was again at the forefront for Curepe Sports but his effort was in vain as Moosai Sports defeated them by five wickets.
Williams scored 28 in his team’s 110 all out and then grabbed 2/30 as Moosai Sports rode to victory.

Another Guyanese Sasenarine Sookdeo scored an unbeaten 28 to take Munroe Road to victory over Endeavour Sports at Munroe Road.

AT CUREPE: Curepe Sports 110 all out (20) (Neil Williams 28, Keegan Roy 3-21, Rohan Parsan 3-22) v Moosai’s Sports 113-5 (15.4) (Michael Harry 77 not out, Neil Williams 2-30). Moosai’s won by 5 wkts.

AT CHAGUANAS: Central Sports 116-6 (20) (Valmikee Deonarine 28, Narendra Bridgelal 27, Gary Mathurin 26, Cedric Paul 2-14, Rajesh Ramgobin 2-19) v Caroni Sav. Road 70-8 (20) (Waheed Edwards 19, Mahendra Nagamootoo 3-5, Marlon Bharath 2-10). C Sports won by 46 runs.

AT MUNROE ROAD: Endeavour Sports 93 all out (18.3) (Nishal Guyadeen 5-15) v Munroe Road Sports 97-3 (14.4) (Jairaj Dilraj 38, Sasenarine Sookdeo 28 not out). M. Road won by 7 wkts.
