The Teaching Service Commission (TSC) said notices of vacancies for senior appointments for this year and the reviewed criteria will be published in the last week of February.

The TSC, officials from the education ministry and the Guyana Teachers Union met on Tuesday to discuss the issue, a press release from the Government Information Agency (GINA) said. Negotiations are ongoing.

GINA said the TSC is a constitutional body with the power to appoint, remove and discipline teachers in the system.
