City Council removing pavement vendors

The Mayor and City Council has started its campaign to remove encumbrances from pavements and thoroughfares.

In a press release the Council said this campaign would include removing some street vendors who operate in Regent Street, sections of Robb Street and in other areas in the city. It said operations by these vendors have impeded drainage and have greatly contributed to the piles of garbage on the pavements and along the streets. The Council also advises store owners to stay within the legal confines of their premises and to support the municipality’s efforts to clean up the city.
