Ministry developing 331 more house lots at Bath

The Ministry of Housing and Water says it will develop another 331 house lots when it starts the third phase of the Bath Settlement programme under the second low-income programme.

Minister Irfaan Ali made this disclosure during a recent visit to Bush Lot and Waterloo where he also outlined plans for the development of basic services and consolidating existing housing schemes; the upgrading of squatter settlements and implementing programmes to address issues of affordability and sustainability.

According to a Government Information Agency press release the minister said “By the end of 2010 we could have completely fulfilled the housing requirement based on what we have in the system for Region Five.” He said last year 270 interviews were conducted from about 600 applicants and those persons are set to get house lots before August.
