A 22-year-old man was remanded to prison after appearing at the Vreed-en-Hoop Magistrate’s Court on a carnal knowledge charge yesterday.

Aaron Henry Harvey of Lot 22 De Kinderen, West Coast Demerara was not required to plead to the charge of carnally knowing a girl under the age of 15 and was remanded to prison by Magistrate Fazil Azeez.

It is alleged that on February 7 at Tuschen, East Bank Essequibo he had carnal knowledge of the girl, who is under 15 years old.

The matter was reported and following police investigations he was arrested and charged.
He will return to court on March 9 at the Leonora Magistrate’s Court.
