Bare Root infrastructure for upgrading

Head of the Presidential Secretariat Dr. Roger Luncheon says government will construct roads and drains at Bare Root, East Coast Demerara as part of a wider social sector upgrade in various areas across the country.

He yesterday said that Cabinet cleared contacts totalling $199M for works to be carried out at Bare Root, in addition to road upgrades at No.77 housing settlement at Corentyne and at Parfait Harmonie.

The Bare Root contract is $40.9M, $84.7M has been awarded for works at Corentyne and $44.7M has been approved for the Parfait Harmonie works.

Further, Luncheon said that $29.2M was awarded for the rectification of the pure water distribution network at Recht door Zee, West Coast Demerara.
