A woman on her way home early yesterday morning, was sexually assaulted by a lone gunman who also relieved her of cash and jewellery.

The police said in a press release that they are investigating the incident that occurred around 00:15 hrs at Bachelors’ Adventure, East Coast Demerara.

Investigations revealed that the woman was on her way home when she was confronted by a man armed with a gun, who took away her jewellery and $15,000. The man then sexually assaulted her and escaped, the release said.
