Woman rescued from apparent suicide bid

A woman was fished out of the Demerara River at Riverview last evening after reportedly attempting to end her life.

The woman was taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital shortly before 9pm. Reports are that two men rescued her after seeing her floating in the water. She was taken to the Ruimveldt Police Station before being taken to the medical institution. Police are investigating.
