President Bharrat Jagdeo and Prime Minister Samuel Hinds were among the guests and devotees who celebrated holi at the Shri Krishna Mandir with the Shri Krishen Chowtal Gole from Trinidad.

In a press release the Guyana Hindu Dharmic Sabha said the group which comprised 16 persons, also participated in Holi Satsangh at the Rama Krishna Mandir and in Holi Utsav on Phagwah morning on the lawns of the Sanskritik Kendra in Prashad Nagar. The group also joined in the procession during Holika Dahan at the Camptown Ground before the Holika was burnt.

President of the Sabha Pandit Reepu Daman Persaud lauded the many cultural exchanges between Guyana and Trinidad.

He said the Sabha was proud to give the president the first copy of its 35th anniversary magazine. Senior Vice President of the Sabha Dr Madan Rambarran presented the magazine to Jagdeo who acknowledged the contribution the Sabha has made over the years.

According to the release the 62-page magazine is a limited edition publication on Hindu matters. Copies are distributed freely and can be uplifted from the Kendra in Prashad Nagar. It is edited by Dr Vindhya Persaud.
