A 30-year-old electrician yesterday pleaded guilty to the charge of threatening language when it was read to him by Acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court.
On March 16 at Georgetown, Junior Skeete of Charlestown made use of threatening language to Mark Winter thereby creating a breach of the peace.
Police Prosecutor Denise Griffith told the court that the defendant threatened to kill Winter who is his uncle and this was done even in the presence of the police at the time of his arrest.
However, according to Skeete, “My Worship, me uncle ask me fuh help he get a tenant out a he house. An because me ain’t want help he we get into a argument. But I ain’t threaten fuh kill he my Worship, I jus tell he dat he is a cochore.”
The magistrate then told Skeete that she would have to enter a not-guilty plea for him based on his explanation and send the matter for trial.
Skeete was placed on $10,000 bail and he has to return to court on April 24.
