Suspected D’Urban St robber held with toy gun

Police were yesterday able to apprehend a suspect in an armed robbery which was committed on a Chinese Restaurant.

According to a police release, at about 2:30 p.m., two men entered the Young Ming Chinese Restaurant on D’Urban Street and after eating held up the female proprietor and took away $120,000 from a drawer before they escaped. The men were both armed with handguns, the police said.

After the police were informed, they acted on information received and ranks of a mobile patrol arrested a man in an alleyway in D’Urban Street. After he was searched, a toy gun was found in his possession.
