Alexander Village man stabbed by robber

A 26-year-old Alexander Village man was rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital (GPH) last night after he was stabbed by one of two men who robbed him.

Stabroek News learnt from hospital sources that Dominique Jackson of Second Street, Alexander Village was attacked and robbed of two gold rings by two men at John and Princes streets last night. The rings were worth approximately $60,000, sources said.

Reports are that the men were armed with a weapon of some sort and Jackson was stabbed during the robbery. The perpetrators managed to escape.
When this newspaper visited GPH shortly after 8.30pm there was no sign of the injured man. However, sources indicated that Jackson was in the emergency room, accompanied by his wife, receiving treatment.

The man was wounded to the left side of his chest and was listed as being in serious condition up to press time last night.
