Girl, nine, burnt in face

A nine-year-old Port Kaituma girl was air dashed to the Georgetown Public Hospital yesterday after sustaining severe burns to the face.

Onika Bumbury was admitted a patient to the Burn Care Unit at the hospital.

The circumstances surrounding the child’s injuries are not clear. However, this newspaper understands that the fire was gasoline related.

Stabroek News was unable to contact the child’s relatives but hospital sources reported that Bumbury was in stable condition.
