Stabbed pregnant mother stable

The pregnant mother of two who was stabbed in the back and shoulder on Tuesday by her ex-boyfriend is in a stable condition at the Georgetown Hospital but doctors are closely monitoring her condition.

Ann Singh, 26, of Bush Lot Housing Scheme, West Coast Berbice was transferred to the city institution on Tuesday night for further medical attention.

A neighbour had recounted to this newspaper that around 6:30 pm she heard sounds of someone calling for her and when she checked she saw Singh bleeding on the floor. According to the neighbour, the injured Singh whispered that her ex-reputed husband and father of one of her children inflicted the wounds.
