A twenty-nine-year-old man, who was allegedly found with a quantity of cocaine in his possession for the purpose of trafficking, was remanded to prison on Thursday when he appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court.

Ravin Smith of Albouystown pleaded not guilty to the charge of possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking.

It is alleged that on April 1 this year, Smith was found with six grammes of cocaine in his possession for the purpose of trafficking.

Smith’s lawyer Peter Hugh applied for bail for him noting that his client had denied the allegation.

The attorney also requested an early date for commencement of the trial.

The magistrate subsequently ordered that Smith be remanded to prison and that he appear back in court on April 7.
