Ailing woman found dead in home

The decomposed body of a Parika woman, who was reportedly ailing for some time, was discovered in her home yesterday morning.

Reports are that Pulmattie Rasool, 56, of Parika Outfall, East Bank Essequibo, might have been dead for a few days. She lived alone and was said to have been ill for some time prior to the discovery being made.

Police said they are investigating the circumstances surrounding the woman’s death, in a press release yesterday, and reported that her body had been found around 8.50 am.

A source in the area said that Rasool troubled with hypertension, and that she had visited the doctor about two weeks ago with the complaint. The source said the woman consumed alcohol heavily and was widely known in the area for the habit.

She was buried yesterday afternoon by a relative.
