An accident involving a vehicle that was transporting persons to the Lethem Rupununi Rodeo on Friday, resulted in two persons being flown back to Georgetown on Friday to seek emergency medical attention at the Georgetown Public Hospital.

According to reports reaching this newspaper, the driver was going through the trail when he reached a sharp turn and lost control of the vehicle.

Stabroek News was unable to ascertain the names of the injured persons but was told that it was the driver of the vehicle and a passenger that were transported to the GPH for precautionary checks since the vehicle was some way from Lethem.

They arrived in Georgetown around 4.30 pm and were treated and sent away, this newspaper was told.
