Police are investigating the suspected murder of twenty-year-old Naiomi Singh, of Morashee, East Bank Essequibo.

According to a police press release, the woman’s dead body was found at about 6.45 pm on Friday, in a drain at the back of her residence with her throat slit.

She was reportedly at home during the day. Reports are that her father returned home and after she was not seen, a search was conducted and her body subsequently found.

Her body is now at the West Demerara Regional Hospital mortuary.
