Man stabbed at Cuyuni camp

A 42-year-old man is in serious condition at the Georgetown Public Hospital (GPH) after he was allegedly stabbed by a relative yesterday.
Brian Kanhai, of 315 Middle Street, Georgetown was allegedly stabbed in the abdomen and back yesterday. The men, who were at a camp along the Cuyuni River at the time, were involved in an argument during which Kanhai was stabbed twice.

Details of the incident are still not clear. Relatives of the men were at the GPH when this newspaper visited yesterday afternoon but did not comment. Kanhai was in theatre at the time.

After spending several hours undergoing surgery the injured man was admitted to the Male Open Ward and remained in serious condition up to late last night.
