A 27-year-old man was remanded to prison last week at the Leonora Magistrate’s Court after being charged with carnal knowledge of a girl under 15 years.

Odirie Jacobs of Uitvlugt, West Coast Demerara was not required to plead to the indictable charge of carnally knowing a girl under 15 years and was remanded to prison by Magistrate Fazil Azeez. It is alleged that the previous week at Tuschen, East Bank Essequibo, he had carnal knowledge of the minor. The matter was reported and following investigations, he was arrested and charged.

Jacobs will return to court on June 18 at the Leonora Magistrate’s Court.
