Teenager killed driving tractor

– owner in custody

A 16-year-old Wauna Hill resident died on Thursday after he lost control of the tractor he was driving while going downhill.

Police in a press statement yesterday said they are investigating an accident at Wauna Hill, North West District which resulted in the death of Jetrow Persaud.

The accident occurred at approximately 5.30 pm.

Investigations, police said, revealed that “Persaud was driving a motor tractor with a trailer attached to it down the Wauna Hill when he lost control of the vehicle which turned turtle and pinned him.”

The teen was rushed to the Mabaruma Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

The owner of the tractor, according to police, is in custody assisting with investigations.
