The first batch of recruits from the Guyana Defence Force (GDF) Basic Recruit Course 2009 completed their training yesterday at the Tacama Battle School, Berbice River. A total of 217 recruits were enlisted and 174 were successful. At a simple graduation ceremony held at the training school, Chief of Staff of the GDF, Commodore Gary Best briefed the graduates on what was expected of them. The training programme began 10 weeks ago.
