The Region Three RDC remembered late former PPP Councillor Sarabjeet Ramlakhan as “an indefatigable fighter with an indomitable spirit” when it convened its statutory meeting on Wednesday last.

According to a press release Ramlakhan, 72, who was also known as Tanna, of Belle Plaine, Wakenaam died at the Suddie Hospital following a prolonged illness and was cremated last Friday at Wakenaam.

Councillors remembered him as “an ardent and honest individual who showed a keen interest in the work of the council during his tenure (1981-1990).” They said too Ramlakhan served with distinction and stood steadfastly on the side of fair play and justice. A minute of silence was also observed in tribute to the late councillor.
